ALL Students Should Learn CS. ALL Teachers Can Teach CS.
We invite you to join us in an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality computer science (CS) educational opportunities for our California students.
Special 2025 Winter Of CS Opportunity
at the California STEAM Symposium
at the California STEAM Symposium
We invite you to join us during our special Winter of CS convening where computer science-related workshops will be offered Feb. 7-8, 2025 at Town and County Resort in San Diego as part of the annual California STEAM Symposium co-hosted by CDE Foundation, California Department of Education, and the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. All are invited including K-12 educators, paraprofessionals, administrators, and counselors who are interested in bringing computer science to their students.
Winter of CS workshops will provide an opportunity to explore how K-12 educators can integrate computer science into their classrooms.
Dozens of peer-led breakout sessions will focus on trends and concepts in CS. The Winter of CS workshop series of breakout sessions will be interactive. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the CS concepts and practices for the grade level they teach, with ideas for classroom application.
Participants will experience equitable CS pedagogical strategies that can be adapted to meet the needs of their students.
Winter of CS is a part of Seasons of CS and is designed for educators and school leaders to improve access, equity, and engagement in high-quality computer science education for English-learners, low-income, rural, Black, Latinx, and Indigenous students.

CS Community of Practice Meeting for
2024 Summer of CS participants
2024 Summer of CS participants
December 12th
Did you participate in a Summer of CS workshop in June, July, or August 2024? Then network with like-minded educators who have a passion for educational technology and CS. All 2024 Summer of CS participants will receive a separate communication with information about this virtual meeting being held on December 12, 2024.
Note: At our virtual computer science professional learning workshops, we prioritize fostering an interactive and collaborative environment. These workshops are designed not only to impart standards-based knowledge and skills but also to provide California K-12 educators with the invaluable opportunity to connect with their peers who share a passion for computer science and educational technology. Considering this emphasis on connecting with others, we have chosen not to permit AI notetaking bots, like Otter AI, during our sessions. Our decision aligns with the expectations set by the California Department of Education, which requires active, live participation from educators to qualify for stipends related to these synchronous workshops. We understand that everyone's learning preferences differ. If you're someone who leans towards asynchronous learning, we encourage you to check out the other Seasons of CS learning opportunities.
